Powered By Connecticut Ingenuity Mark Twain & The Year was roughly 1888 and Mark Twain had a novel idea. What would happen if a person from modern times were suddenly transported back to the days of King Arthur? Increasing the suspense, what would happen if this poor person were immediately captured by Sir Lancelot, labeled a sorcerer by the court, and sentenced to death by fire at the stake?! To have anything but a disastrous ending, Mark Twain needed a genius with an incredible knack for innovation. A person who could outwit "Merlin", the legendary magician who would have the home field advantage of both place and time. If anyone could find such a genius, it was Mark Twain. He was a world traveler of extensive credentials. He had met most of the world's most esteemed leaders and thinkers. If that fine list failed to provide the necessary talent, Mark Twain could also have employed his incredible imagination, [which came up with this whole idea in the first place]. The Good news for all of us is that Mark Twain picked a real-life genius, wrote his book, and published it as "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" which thousands continue to enjoy today. In the first page of the book, Mark Twain let's his hero identify himself and we quote:
Mark
Twain's hand picked genius was a Connecticut toolmaker and thus began the
legend of MADE IN CONNECTICUT.
A Legend that continues today in more innovative ways than even Mark Twain
could have imagined.
